Go-Nara

The emperor Go-Nara (後奈良天皇, Go-Nara Tennō , January 16th 1497 - September 27th 1557) was the 105e emperor Japan, according to the traditional order of succession, and reigned of the June 9th 1526 with his death. Its personal name was Tomohito (知仁).

Biography

The June 9th 1526, he becomes emperor with dead of his father Go-Kashiwabara. However, the imperial court if is impoverished, that a call to contribution is launched through all the country. Gifts coming from the clans Hōjō, Ōuchi, Imagawa, and other large houses of Daimyō of the time Sengoku enable him to make the formal ceremony of crowning afterwards ten years, the 26e day of the second month of 1536.

The court is then so poor that the emperor must sell his penmanship.
