Go-Hanazono
The emperor Go-Hanazono (後花園天皇, Go-Hanazono Tennō , July 10th 1419 - January 18th 1471) was the 102e emperor Japan, according to the traditional order of the succession, and reigned of the October 5th 1412 with the August 21st 1464.
Its personal name was Hikohito (彦仁). Its posthumous name was given to him in memory of that of the emperor Hanazono (one can translate the prefix Go-, 後, by “posterior”, which thus gives “posterior Hanazono Emperor”.)
Genealogy
Go-Hanazono was the oldest son of the imperial prince Fushimi-No-miya Sadafusa (伏見宮貞成親王) (1372 - 1456). Was his/her mother Yukiko (幸子) (1390 - 1448), daughter off Niwata?? (庭田経有).His/her father was the third of the line Fushimi-No-miya and the grandson of the applicant of the Cour of North Sukō, which makes of him the cousin to the third degree of his predecessor Shōkō.
He had as a consort Ōinomikado (Fujiwara) Nobuko?? (大炊御門 (藤原) 信子) which gave him two children:
- Princess Kanshin (観心女王)
- imperial Prince Naruhito (成仁親王) (future emperor Go-Tsuchimikado)
Biography
The preceding emperor, Shōkō, not having wire, the emperor withdrawn Go-Komatsu adopts the Go-Hanazono future, of the house Fushimi-No-miya, to make safe the heritage of the line Jimyōin vis-a-vis the line Daikakuji.Died of Shōkō, Go-Hanazono succeeds to him, but Go-Komatsu continuous to reign as an emperor withdrawn until his death in 1433. After that, follow 30 years of direct imperial reign, until its own abdication the August 21st 1464, after which the reign of the withdrawn emperors cease of itself.
The shogun Yoshimasa Ashikaga, being delivered to the vice, was punished by the emperor.
