The toponym Goès appears in the forms Guoes (1267, cartulaire of Oloron), Agoes, Feels Joan de Goues (1434, notaries of Oloron), Goez (1729, enumeration of Goès) and Gouex (1736, enumeration of Estos).

History

Paul Raymond note that in 1385, Goès counted 18 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Oloron.
