Gnus is a Client of transport and a Lecteur of news. Its specificity compared to the other applications of this type is that it is integrated into the text editor Emacs and profits from all its power (seized multiple keyboard and multilingual, advanced functions to copy/stick, search for rational expressions, insertion of text automated, programming, etc). Like Emacs, Gnus is Multi-platform, and does not require a graphic Environnement to function (although it can benefit from it when it is present).
Because of its Emacs integration, Gnus is probably incomparable for the comfort of seizure to the keyboard. It is thus particularly recommended to those for which the Email or Usenet became essential elements of their daily activity. It however requires to learn how to make use of Emacs, effort which opens the door with many possibilities but which is not negligible.
It is a Free software distributed according to the terms of the license GNU LPG.
