Glutathion peroxidase

The Glutathion peroxidase is a Enzyme made of four sub-units containing each one an atom of Sélénium built-in a molecule of Sélénocystéine (in which the Oxygène of the grouping Hydroxyle of the Sérine is replaced by selenium). The glutathion peroxidase is present in the extracellular liquids and in the cells on the level of the Cytosol and the Mitochondrie S. It ensures the transformation of the Hydropéroxyde S organics, lipidic in particular, of type ROOH in ROH.
