The Glucose is a principal Aldohexose representing Ose S. By convention, it is symbolized by Glc .
It is presented in the form of a white powder, of a sweetened savor caramelizing starting from 150 °C. It is soluble in the Eau, the ethanol and the Pyridine but insoluble in the diethylic ether and the organic solvents.
Structure
The Glucose (synonymous dextrose when it is about D-glucose) is a simple Ose and more particularly a aldo Hexose. It presents same the rough Formule as its Isomère S, in particular the Mannose or the Fructose: C 6 H 12 O 6. The molar mass of the Glucose is of 180,156 g/mol.
