Glock

Glock is an Austrian company of armament located at Wagram to 15 km of Vienna.

The name of the company is an acronym taking again the name of the founder Gaston Glock who is the current president. It was founded in 1963 in the suburbs of Vienna.

Founded in 1963, it is mainly known to be the manufacturer of guns whose carcass is containing polymer, but it also manufactures equipment such as knives and shovels.

The use of Polymère S resistant and very light reduces the weapon. These nonmetal materials were at the origin of a controversy on the weapons produced by Glock, which were regarded as undetectable weapons. In addition to the fact that good number of parts remain out of metal (and in particular the cylinder head, the gun, the spring of the charger and ammunition…) and that an operator of safety correctly formed will locate the weapon without difficulty, a commercial reason probably was at the origin of this controversy.
