Gliese 876 (or Gl 876 , IT Aquarii , Ross 780 ) is a star located in the Constellation of the Verseau.

It is about a Naine red three times less massive than the Sun (either approximately 200 times the Masse of Jupiter). It is also considerably less luminous: approximately 600 times less than the Sun. Moreover, distant of only 15 light-years, it is very close to the Sun: it is about the 40e star nearest to our Solar system (if only the stellar systems are counted; the 53e by counting the individual components of the multiple systems). In spite of its proximity, it is too much weak to be visible with the naked eye, one needs at least small a Télescope to be able to observe it.
