One year later, under the wing of Rick Rubin, the group signs in a major, and then changes his name into Danzig to become one of the most important group of heavy metal of its time. In 1988, the group publishes its first album Danzig , which will be a great success (in particular thanks to individual the Mother ). On this impetus the group will publish three so crowned albums them success: Danzig II: Lucifugous , Danzig III: How the gods kill , and Danzig IV .

The following year, whereas the composition of its group completely changed, Danzig publishes a fifth album without Rick Rubin and with a new recording company: Danzig V: Blackacidevil . This album marks a major musical change which will involve a certain disinterest on behalf of the fans. The 3 following albums will not manage them either to be the success of the first opus.
