The glaucous Macaw , just like the Macaw Hyacinthe and the Macaw of Lear, belongs to the kind Anodorhynchus .

This bird measured approximately 72 cm and had a moderate gray blue plumage, clear zones of yellow around the eyes and to the fastener of the lower mandible of the nozzle, black and powerful naked skin.

He lived in a surface covering Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay and the extreme south-east of Brazil. Become rare during second half of the 19th century, only two observations were carried out during the next century. In spite of research in his surface of distribution and several rumors of his description, one regards it as a disappeared species.
