The glands of Bartholin are Glande S which are located on each side of the posterior half of the Vulve, in the thickness of the large lips. By the secretion of cyprine, they take part in the Lubrification of the Vagin.

Pathology

A Bartholinite is a Abcès of the gland of Bartholin (infection which requires sometimes the incision of the latter).

Etiology

Development of a banal germ (Streptocoque, Colon bacillus, Gonococcus) following an external traumatism a such Childbirth, on a ground hormonally unbalanced.
