The glam rock'n'roll (for “ glamor rock'n'roll ”) corresponds to a movement of the British rock'n'roll extending on the Années 1970 and 1980, and by certain aspects precursor of the movement Punk (1977).
The glam rock'n'roll (or glitter rock'n'roll) is characterized by several spectacular, musical or literary aspects:
most obvious is its side spectacularly “ glamourous ”: the singers and their groups seem heirs to the Dandy EMS, vêtus in an eccentric way, covered of strass and spangles, asserting openly their character Androgyne; it is for example the case of David Bowie declaring itself bisexual ( Melody maker 1972 ). During the last time of the movement, however, the side “glam with spangles” tends to grow blurred for an esthetics with top hats plus “vampire”, inspired enough by the film Clockwork orange (see the group The New York Dolls and, at certain moments, Queen).
comes then, on a more musical level, the abundance of the parts where all the members of a group sing in chorus (even partition, even height, even moment). See celebrates it piece Cosmic Dancer group T-Rex (included inter alia in the film Billy Elliot).
finally, is this a chance, the references to the Science-fiction are frequent in the glam rock'n'roll: group David Bowie called Ziggy Stardust, many references to this planet in its songs ( Life One Mars ) like in those, for example, of T-Rex ( Ballrooms Of Mars ), etc
With these sure values, one ended up adding certain artists and American groups:
Whereas some others seem its heirs simply:
Among the first singers of glam, only David Bowie is truly remained in front of the scene while adapting.
