Glam metal
The glam metal (" glam" coming from the therme " glamor") was one of the most popular styles of metal in the years 1980, often called Hair metal by the detractors. The sound of this kind, as its name indicates it, is located between the sound of the heavy metal of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple and the sound of the Glam rock'n'roll of Sweet. The groups of glam metal were known for their use of the solos of guitar, their leaders energy, and their beaters which not only managed to play of the technically complex pieces, but also to propose a diverting spectacle. Many groups used make-up to have an air androgyne like certain groups of glam rock'n'roll of the years 1970. Mötley Crüe, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister and Quiet Riot is examples of groups playing this kind of metal.
