Glacial lake
A glacial lake is a lake resulting from the cast iron of a Glacier.
Water of the glacial lakes can have a green color, because of presence of fine mineral particles ( rock'n'roll flour ) supporting the presence of important populations of algae.
A glacier in retreat often leaves blocks of ice, in cavities between the Drumlin S or the Colline S. At the end of a glacial period, this ice melts to form lakes. These lakes are often surrounded by drumlins as well as other glacial formations such as the Moraine S, the Esker S and of the figures of erosion like glacial flutings.
