Gl 1

Gliese 1 ( Gl 1 or GJ 1 ) is a star Naine red of the Constellation of the Sculpteur, which is in the southern part of the sky. As it is very located close to the origin of the astronomical coordinates of Right ascension, it became the first star of the catalogs of stars Gliese and Luyten Half-Second. It is one of the stars closest to the Sun, at a distance from approximately 14,2 light-years. However it is too weak to be visible with the naked eye (apparent Magnitude: 8,54). The spectral Type of this star is given M1.5V to M3.0V according to the sources.
