- In the Scandinavian Mythology, Gjallarhorn or Giallarhorn is the Lur by which the god Heimdall sends a message to the gods of Ásgard and with the mortals of Midgard. It is hidden under Yggdrasil but Heimdall will make it sound to announce the beginning of Ragnarök. Its name means " horn retentissant".

Giallarhorn indicates also the horn which makes it possible Mimir to drink spring water which conceals wisdom and the intelligence. (Mimisbrunn: " the source of Mimir). It is very erudite thanks to the water of this source which it drinks each morning using Giallarhorn .
