Giuseppe Bonno

Giuseppe Bonno (born the January 29th 1711 with Vienna; died the April 15th 1788 in the same city) was a Austrian Compositeur .

Bonno studied the music with Lasting Naples with Francesco and Leonardo Leo. It returned then to Vienna, becoming type-setter of court and working like Kapellmeister for the prince of Saxony-Hildburghausen in the years 1750 and 1760.

Works of Bonno are seldom played nowadays. He was however an important character of the musical life of Vienna and its works then were often played. The majority are vocal works: Oratorio S, Mass and others crowned works as well as scenic parts (of which some collaborations with Pietro Metastasio). Bonno was the uncle of Cristiano Giuseppe Lidarti (1730 - about 1794)
