Gistel

Gistel is a common city and Dutch-speaking of Belgium located in Flemish Région in the Province of Western Flanders.

It includes Gistel itself, in addition to Moere, Snaaskerke and Zevekote.

Most known of the inhabitants of Gistel is Sylvère Maes, victorious Tour de France cyclist of 1936 and 1939.

One also finds Gistel in old documents with the orthography " Ghistelles".
