Gisele Halimi
Gisele Halimi , born Zeiza Gisele Elects Taïeb in Tunisia in 1927, is a lawyer and a militant feminist and French policy of Tunisian origin.
Biography
It enters to the Barreau of Tunis in 1949 and continues its career of lawyer E with Paris in 1956.She was married, in first weddings, with Paul Halimi then, in second weddings, with Claude Faux, former secretary of Jean-Paul Sartre of which she was the friend and the lawyer.
Strongly committed in several causes, it militates for the independence of the Algérie, denounces the Torture S practiced by the French Army and defends the militants of MNA (Algerian national movement) continued by French justice. In the same spirit, it chairs a board of inquiry on the American war crimes the Vietnam.

At the sides of Simone de Beauvoir, it founds in 1971 the feminist movement Choisir the cause of the women and militates in favor of the de-penalization of the Avortement.

For the promotion of Easter 2006, Gisele Halimi is promoted with the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honor.
