Girl (young woman)
A girl is an individual of female sex and relatively young age.
It is employed with various connotations in several expressions: little girl (or young girl), designating a child of female sex, generally not-employee with the top of twelve or thirteen years. This expression can also be used as pejorative qualifier with regard to an older person, including male sex. “Young girl” indicates a teenager. “Old maid” nominates person of an adult and unmarried female sex. This term is rather pejorative, and is employed to reproach the person for not being married. “Girl mother” nominates a person mother of a child without being married. “Prostitute” is a Euphémisme to indicate a Prostituée. The Filles of the Martyrdom are an order of nuns.

Behavioral differences
By stereotype, the girls are less violent than the boys, more attracted by the stories of love, and prefer different toys. The draftsman Plantu summarizes this separation as follows: a girl dreams of a headstock, a boy of a truck of firemen. A boy dreaming of a headstock or a girl dreaming of a truck of firemen is the “marginal ones”.
Undeniable if one refers to the sales of toys, these differences are not inevitably Inné are: babies, the girls are often equipped pink whereas the boys are it in blue. These differences being imposed whereas the boys and girls are too young to express their will, a share of Conditionnement can explain the later choices. It is this kind of educational skew which denounces Simone de Beauvoir in its famous sentence one is not born woman, one becomes it.
There exist newspapers specialized for girls, contrary to the boys.
Social status
Until very recently, in the majority of the countries, the Femme S were not entitled to the statute of anybody major. They were regarded as girls, until they marry; from where the expression “name of young girl”.
Civility
Contrary to the individuals of male sex, the girl has a title of civility distinct from that which it carries adult. Indeed, a girl is civilly a young lady ( damoiseau , the male version of this word, largely fell in disuse), and the title which one employs to address to it is Miss , that one shortens in Mlle . This distinction exists the same in German ( Fraulein ) and in English. In the english-speaking, feminists proposed to remove this distinction, seen like discriminatory since reserved for the female sex, and proposed to replace Miss (Mlle) and Mrs (Mme) by ms (which one pronounces Miz ). This practice not being widespread among French-speaking people, there does not exist translation of ms . Me cannot be used in this manner since it means “Main” and is reserved to the notaries, to lawyers, etc
Literature and works of fiction
The young girl is a figure in certain authors like Proust, Baudelaire, Montherlant or Nabokov.
In literature, the young girl is generally supposed to be innocent. She plays a naive part in the fairy tales.
The girls can traverse initiatory voyages, ( Alice with the country of the wonders ) but the combat has few chances to belong to the tests, contrary to the voyages of the boys.
The representation of a girl prépubère as sexuée appears with the type of the Nymphette of Nabokov in its novel Lolita .
In the majority of works of fiction, the Bienséance S a long time made girls of the people unable to defend themselves. In the Years 1960, the Comics proposed heroins girls, but they were not to fight physically (their capacities allowing them to fight remotely, with the image of Jean Grey and the invisible Femme). More recently, the girls put themselves to fight physically.
