Fillé is a common French, located in the department of the the Sarthe and the area Pays of the Loire.
Its inhabitants is called Filléens.

History
The prehistoric presence is attested by the update of some objects out of flint while the discovery of a Roman currency with the XIX° century lets suppose the presence of a Gallo-Roman occupation. This Gallo-Roman presence is attested today by the discovery of archaeological indices (tiles, ceramics). The medieval development of the parish is related to the important seigniory of Buffe which is located on other bank of the Sarthe. It was to control the passage by vat on other bank. Later the ground of Large Chesnay becomes the principal seigniory until the Revolution. In November 1795, the commune integrates into its territory the parish of Guécelard and names then FILLE-GUECELARD, the Town hall and the school being located at GIRL, a school known as of " hameau" nevertheless is built with GUECELARD into 1877 which becomes common to whole share on July 30th, 1880. The landscape filléen leaves its monotony at the end of the XIX° century with the passage of the tram and becomes an appointment snuffed of the manceaux one. August 7th, 1944, the American tanks arrive since the road of the Vines, German is present in the village and the dispute is inevitable. The American armoured tanks give an opinion to flush out the enemy while certain German soldiers are hidden in the bell-tower. The exchanges of artillery are violent one and the church as some dwellings burn. The following day, the fixings continue because certain German soldiers are hidden in the vaults of the cemetery. August 8th, 1944, the village is released. Since 1990, the commune experiences an important development dependant in the vicinity of Mans but also on a political dynamics of growth which allowed the doubling of the population in a few decades.

Religious heritage
Church bombarded in the evening of August 7th, 1944 during the Release of GIRL by American tanks. The rebuilding of the church was undertaken in 1947 and was finished in 1956. Rule of the Virgin of XVIIe out of glazed ground that the fire of 1944 left only unscathed.

Famous characters
Henri VALLEY car manufacturer born with GIRL in 1865. Creator of various models of which an original machine of race called " Pantoufle".
Tourist monuments and places
Communal mill of the 15th century recently restored. Castle of the Large chesnay of the medium of XVIIe. Metallic bridge on the Sarthe, work of art built in 1896 by Breton engineer L. HAREL OF NOAH. The banks of the Sarthe and the channel of Girl are regularly attended by the fishermen and the many walkers.
Events
- In 1995, the mayor of the village, Gerard CHOISNET, in love with the Mill and conscious of the interest of the site agrees with the owner for a hiring with undertaking to purchase and, finally in April 2000, thanks to the obstinacy of the Mayor, the owner of the site and last miller Raoul COSNIER signed the sale contract with the Community of Communes of the Valley of the Sarthe. Very quickly, a project of river recreational center is outlined, the mill is restored by the Association of the Mill of Girl, created in 1996 also on the initiative of the Municipality, and the buildings of the farm of the Mill will be also renovated.
Twinnings
GIRL is twinned with the Rumanian village of CERVICESTI in MOLDAVIE which he sponsored before the events of 1989 whereas it was intended to be destroyed under the dictatorship of CEAUCESCU. Humane voyages were undertaken in February 1990 and June 1993 following the events which followed the fall of Communism thus allowing contacts and exchanges of mails.
