Giovanni Ordelaffi

Giovanni Ordelaffi (1355-1399) is noble Italian who lived at the 14th century, he belongs to the family of the Ordelaffi of the town of Forli.

Nephew of Sinibaldo I Ordelaffi, it married one of the girls of Malatesta Malatesta.

Giovanni Ordelaffi is famous a Condottiere. It was engaged by Antonio della Scalla to order, with Ostasio da Polenta, the troops of Vérone against those of Padoue which were ordered John Hawkwood. It was made prisoner at the time of famous the Bataille of Castagnaro (March 11th 1387) that John Hawkwood gained.

The same year, after being released, it tried to take again Forli to release his uncle Sinibaldo who had been imprisoned by his children Cecco and Pino.

He died poisoned by his cousin Pino II Ordelaffi.
