Giovanni Goria

Giovanni Goria , of its complete name Giovanni Giuseppe Goria , born the July 30th 1943 with Silk (Piedmont), dead the May 21st 1994 in the same city, was a Politician Italy N.

Giovanni Goria adheres to the Italian Christian Democrat in 1960, exerting various local responsibilities within the party.

In 1976, it is elected with the House of Commons.

He exerts then various ministerial responsibilities:

of the June 28th 1981 with the August 23rd 1982: under-secretary of State in charge of the Assessment, in the Spadolini government,
of February 1st 1982 with the August 4th 1983: Minister of Finances, in the 5th Fanfani government,
of the August 4th 1983 with the 1986: Minister of Finances, in the 1st Craxi government,
of the 1986 to the April 17th 1987: Minister of Finances, in the 2nd Craxi government,
of the April 17th 1987 with the July 28th 1987: Minister of Finances and, by interim, minister for the Assessment and the economic Programming, in the 6th Fanfani government.

Its political career culminates, of the July 28th 1987 with the March 11th 1988, when it occupies the functions of president of the Italian Council of Ministers.

He is elected with the the European Parliament, in June 1989, but gives up his mandate in 1991, after his return to the government.

He occupies again of the ministerial functions in two governments:

of the April 12th 1991 with the April 24th 1992: minister for Agriculture and Foêt, in the 7th Andreotti government,
of the June 28th 1992 with the April 28th 1993, Minister for Finance, in the 1st government D' Amato.

Implied in the politico-financial scandal revealed by the “ Operation clean hands ” (Mani pulite) , it is constrained with the resignation, at the same time as its party, the Christian Democrat, must be solved with car-dissolution.

Reached of a long illness, Giovanni Goria dies in its birthplace, the May 21st 1994, before the end of the open instruction judiciare against him.
