Giovanni Battista Amici
Giovanni Battista Amici is a Astronome and a Italian microscopist , born the March 25th 1786 with Modena and dead the April 10th 1863 with Florence.
After its studies which it follows to Bologna, he becomes professor of Mathématiques in Modena. In 1831, he becomes inspector-general of the studies of the Duchy.
A few years later, it is selected to direct the observatory to Florence. Parallel to these activities, it gives conferences to the Natural history museum of Natural history of the city.
Its name is associated with the improvements which it makes to the Miroir S used by the Télescope S and as in the construction of the Microscope S. He is also the author of various astronomical observations in particular on the double stars, the satellite S of Jupiter, the measurement of the diameters to the pole S and the equator of Sun, etc the crater Amici is a lunar Cratère which was dedicated to him.
It makes also many observations in biology in particular on the circulation of the Sève at the plants, their fructification, the Infusoire S, etc ----
