Gionges

Gionges is a common French, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.

Under the Old Mode, the community of Gionges was made of two religious parishes:
Gionges with the term of Saint Ironwood, who had as a branch Saint Ferjeux and
Fulaines with the term of Saint Quentin.
Gionges and Fulaines are always counted together.
However in 1709, Saugrain notes, in the place of Gionges " Fulaines and dépendances".
In 1720, Gionges does not appear, but it notes:
" Etienne saint with the Temple, St Ferjeux or Fulaine, Gionges or St Quentin, appendix, and the farm of Neuville St Ferjeux, otherwise called Commercy"

NB: of 1664 with 1774 under the Old Mode the Recensement was expressed in " feux" who corresponds to an average family of 5 people.

In 1856, the departure of the families and the fall of the births are the 2 causes of depopulation, mentioned in the list of names.
