Gimel-the-Cascades

Gimel-the-Cascades is a common French, located in the department of the Corrèze and the area the Limousin. Its inhabitants is called Gimelois and Gimeloises.

Blasonnement: burelé of money and azure, with the band of mouths stitching on the whole
These weapons were those of the Lords de Gimel and were adopted by the municipality in 1978. They are the same ones as those of the lords de Parthenay and the city éponyme. One recognizes there a crack of the weapons of the Lusignan ( burelé of money and azure ), from which Gimel would come.

Gimel is especially known for its Cascades and the treasure of its church. This one contains especially the Châsse of Etienne Saint in enamel of Limoges of the 12th century.
