Gima

Gima (Metallurgical and Automobile Industrial Grouping) is a manufacturer of motor bikes French, having produced small-engined cars of 1947 to 1954. It was based with Chamalières, in the Puy-de-Dôme.

The motorizations were of 108 - 125 - 250  cm ³, with engines AMC and Ydral.

The 125 was the first French motor bike with telescopic Fourche.

They gained many successes in race, in particular by finishing first of the Bol of gold in 1949.

But the arrival of the Italian scooters and the Japanese motor bikes, more economic caused the decline of the mark.

In 2005, company GB Méca, directed by Hilario Gonzales and based with Peschadoires, decides to reproduce one 125 which was one of the models headlight of Gima. It uses one-cylinder a four time AMC, consuming 2,5 liters of gasoline to the 100 kilometers. The motor bike is the certified copy of its ancestor, with the lawful details near such as the indicators or the rear view mirrors. Other concessions with modernity, lighting is electronic and the carburettor is Dell' Orto. The 500 specimens envisaged will be marketed at the price of 3.600 €.
