Gilmore Girls is a American Televised series in 153 42 minutes episodes, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and diffused between the October 5th 2000 and the May 9th 2006 on the network WB (seasons 1 to 6) and between the September 26th 2006 and the May 15th 2007 on the network CW (season 7). In France, the series was diffused starting from the September 8th 2001 on TF6 and was repeated on Gulli. In Belgium, the series is diffused on Club RTL and with the Quebec on VRAK.TV.

Synopsis

This series tells the history of Lorelai Gilmore, 32 years old, which only raises his/her Rory daughter. Sixteen years only separate them, which explains their fusional relation. Lorelai is managing of an inn with Stars Hollow when Rory is allowed in Chilton, a prestigious school. Unfortunately, Lorelai does not have the means of paying him this school, this is why it calls upon her parents Emily and Richard with whom it is in cold since his decision to keep Rory without marrying with his Christopher father when it was 16 years old. The parents of Lorelai accept provided that Lorelai and Rory agree to dine on their premises every Friday evening…

Characters

  • Lorelai Gilmore : mother of Rory and girl of Emily, Lorelai is managing inn called the Independence Inn . Whereas it is only 16 years old, it falls pregnant from Rory which it only raises from now on. Indeed, Christopher, the father of Rory, is absent and does not invest itself in the education of his/her daughter. Appreciated of all the inhabitants of Hollow Stars, Lorelai is a accro with the coffee (particularly that of his/her friend Luke) and is with the research of the love. It is very close to Rory and entrusts to him its small secrecies as with a friend. She dreams to open her own inn.
  • Rory Gilmore : Rory acquired a great maturity vis-a-vis the events which surround it, this is why in spite of its calm, it has a strong character. Very intelligent, it integrates a prestigious school, Chilton, with an aim of entering later to Harvard. Progressively the series, it approaches to her grandparents Richard and Emily. Side heart, it will leave successively with Dean then Jess, the nephew of Luke. His/her best friend is called Lane Kim.

  • Luke Danes : Luke is the owner and manager of the bar-restaurant Luke' S which was in the past William' S Hardware , the hardware of his/her late father. It is in this place that it made knowledge (and became friendly) with the Gilmore girls, who will eat the every day almost there. Of cold aspect, bourru and grognon, Luke hide actually a heart of gold to the service of the others. Secretly in love with Lorelai, he does not dare to acknowledge to him, which gives place to an ambiguous relation between them. He is always in conflict with the council of the city because he does not support that him orders are given.

  • Emily Gilmore : Emily, the mother of Lorelai and the grandmother of Rory, is a preserving middle-class woman very little maintaining relations with his/her daughter. When Lorelai calls it for the aid to pay the studies of Rory, Emily jumps on this occasion to approach its grand-daughter. She spends most clearly her time to criticize her daughter and to mix with the education of Rory, which irritates Lorelai. In spite of its sometimes hateful character, she admits having made errors with Lorelai.

  • Richard Gilmore : It is the father of Lorelai. It is devoted mainly to its career, which moved away it from his/her daughter. It is closer to Rory besides and is interested in its projects. It is very awkward to express its feelings and obeys his wife.

  • Dean Forrester : Calm and romantic, Dean has just arrived at Stars Hollow and quickly becomes the first boyfriend of Rory. Besides Lorelai compares it with Christopher, the father of Rory. The arrival of the nephew of Luke will curb their relation. In spite of the marriage of Dean in the fourth season, him and Rory will not cease recovering together then to be left.

  • Lane Kim : Lane is the best friend of Rory. Of Korean origin, his/her mother, who holds a shop of antiquities, ensures a very strict education according to the traditional values what pushes Lane to rebel. She dreams of the great love and thus saw by procuration the relations of Rory. She assembles a group of music rock'n'roll, Hep Alien.

  • Sookie St.James : Cooker of Independence Inn and better friend of Lorelai, it considers Rory as his/her niece so much it is close to the Gilmore girls. She envisages to open with Lorelai an inn. She is promised in marriage to Jackson Melville, her supplier of fruit and vegetables of which she will fall pregnant.

  • Paris To freeze : Enemy sworn of Rory with Chilton, she dreams to go to Harvard just like Rory, which makes its principal rival of it on the school but also sentimental level since she is in love with Tristan whereas is attracted to him by Rory. Finally, Paris will drop its two assistants, Louise and Madeline, to approach Rory and will become even its joint tenant at the university of Yale.

  • Jess Mariano : Jess unloads in Stars Hollow in the second season. His/her mother not managing to deal with him, it puts Luke, her big brother, in load of the wellbeing of her son. Then, Jess will be amourachera of Rory, which will drop Dean during the third season to go to join it. Unfortunately, the problems accumulating on the shoulders of Jess and Stars Hollow being too small for him, it leaves the city at the end of the season three, finishing its relation with Rory at the same time. It will however twice return during the season four in order to convince Rory to leave with him, but without success.

  • Logan Huntzberger : Rory starts its second year with Yale. It becomes increasingly implied in the newspaper of the college, and meets one intriguing young man named Logan, which has the same social class as his/her grandparents. Logan is the son of a large press baron, fact part of the drafting of Yale Daily News and in particular also of a secret club, and its family knows Richard and Emily very well. Two young people will not finish approaching, in spite of their differences in values.
