Gilles Trip hammer (born the August 8th 1916 with Paris and deceased the March 29th 2006), is a journalist, a politician and an intellectual of French left wing. It cofondé PSU before joining the Socialist party.
Communist, resistant then journalist
Bachelor of arts and graduate of higher learning of history, Gilles Martinet is initially allured by the Communisme with the beginning of the year 1930, and becomes secretary of the Étudiants Communists of Paris. He leaves the Communist party in 1938 after the Procès of Moscow. He engages in the Résistance in 1941 and forges his vocation of journalist by taking part in the publication of clandestine newspapers like the Insurrectionist .
In 1944, it takes the direction of the agency Havas with the assistance of a section of FFI. He becomes the director of the French Office of information, future the AFP, between 1944 and 1948. In 1950, with Claude Bourdet and Roger Stephan, it creates the Observer . The newspaper takes the name of Today the Observer in 1953 then of France Observer in 1954. Gilles Martinet is the director until 1964, date on which Claude Perdriel repurchases the newspaper, which becomes the Nouvel Observateur . Gilles Martinet will keep the post of administrator until 1985.
PSU with the PS
Parallel to his journalistic career, Gilles Martinet continues his political course. He is general secretary of the Union of the socialist left (1957-1960). He is one of the founders of the Socialist party unified (PSU), of which he is assistant national secretary of 1960 to 1967.
He joined the Socialist party in 1972, and becomes about it member of the executive office between 1973 and 1979, member of the management committee of 1973 with 1981.
In 1979 he is elected European Député on the list of the Socialist party. In 1981, it becomes Ambassadeur of France in Italy, station which it occupies until 1984. In 1984 it is high with the dignity of ambassador of France.
In 1988, he is member of the cabinet of Michel Rocard, then Prime Minister
Various points
Married with the girl of the Socialist and Italian trade unionist Bruno Buozzi, resistant assassinated in 1944 by the Nazis, it had two girls, of which one married Alain Krivine, directing LCR.
