Gilles Latulippe

Gilles Latulippe (Montreal, August 31st, 1937 -) is a Acteur, Humoriste and theater director Québécois.

Biography

Gilles Latulippe begins his professional path in 1959 by creating the role of the famous Nolasque brother in the comedy “Botches and Right” Gratien Gélinas.

Thereafter, this actor becomes one accustomed of television. He is one of the rare people to be taken part in two daily series which count more than 1.000 emissions: “the Zoo of the Captain Catch” and “Demons of midday”. One also sees it in many comedies, of which “Symphorien” - it incarnates the title role -, “the Brilliance” and “Poivre and salt”. Parallel to its televised appearances, it perpetuated the tradition of burlesque by transforming the Dominion theater and opening into place and place the Théâtre of the Varieties in September 1967, a very attended theater with Montreal. It ensured the direction of it during 33 years until its closing in 2000.

The Théâtre of the Varieties now made place with a theater, named the Tulip in the honor of Gilles Latulippe, diffusing concerts rock'n'roll, French-speaking song as well as dances.
