Gilles Fort

Gilles Fort , born the October 31st 1947 with Montreal, is the author of the " Guide sporting rivers in Québec" (Edition Marcel Broquet, 1980)

Biography

After five years of forwarding in boat-camp-site, Gilles Fortin turns in 1970 to the descent of rivers in the kayak. He explores many sporting rivers of Quebec and takes part in the first of 27 of the descents included in his guide. Starting from 1972, it takes part in the promotion of running water to the Board of directors of the Québécois Federation of Boat-Kayak, of which he will be the president in 1979. In parallel, it is interested in the running water compétion, and lasting of many years it is one of the best inhabitants of Quebec in the kayak of slalom (4th in Canada in 1974) In 1978, it gains, with Monique Bourdon, the Canadian championship in the mixed two-seater canoe (slalom and descent). The result of its guide comes from the synthesis of its track records as an architect, data processing specialist, a pedagog (University of Montreal, Université Laval).
