Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement

The Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement (GBUM) is a political movement, supported by local politicians, who asserts the creation of an autonomous State of Gilgit - Baltistan, on the model of the Azad Cachemire, on the current territory of the Pakistani area of the Territoires of North.

Concurrently to practical claims concerning the increase in the standard of living and the construction of roads, the GBUM require that the area of Gilgit - Baltistan is represented within Kashmir Council of the Azad Kashmir, an authority equivalent to a Sénat, and that the Legislative council of the Territoires of North is high with the row of legislative assembly with rights equivalent to those of his counterpart cachemirie.

According to the GBUM, the area a short period of independence between on November 1st 1947 knew, when suzerainty cachemirie ceased, and the November 21st 1947, when the Pakistani army invades the territory.

The president of the GBUM is Manzoor Hussain Parwana, the general secretary Ghulam Shehzad Aga.
