Gilded glove
The Glove gilded (English: Gold Glove Award ) is a price decreed with the best players of a league or a championship of Baseball for their defensive qualities.
In the major League of baseball, 18 gilded gloves are distributed at the end of each season after a vote of the managers and instructors of the teams of the League. A gilded glove is decreed by defensive position in the American Ligue and the National league. The players of external field are rewarded some is their position on the ground (right-hand side, center or left).
The price was created in 1957 by the company Rawlings, manufacturer of gloves of baseball, to reward the defensive performances for the players of the major League. For the first edition, only one price was allotted for each position without reference to league. The voters are then the journalists specialized in baseball. The following year, the players are invited to vote and two prices are decreed by position, for each league. In 1965, the methods of vote become those into force today (managers and instructors).
