Gilbert Stuart
Gilbert Stuart (North Kingstown, Rhode Island, 1755 - Boston, 1828) is an American painter.
Biography
Gilbert Stuart is a portraitist of the beginnings of the United States. He is known for his portraits of men and famous women in America.After several stays with London and Dublin, Stuart returns to America in 1793 where it remains until its death. It resides at New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Boston. Most of its works is today preserved at the National Gallery off Art of Washington.
