Gilbert Puech

Named at the University Lyon 2 in 1973, Gilbert Puech is professor of the Universities since 1985.

President 2001-2006 of the University Lyon 2, it is there currently to advise of the deputy secretary to Higher education, director of the department of Formation FILTERS like director of service PERSEE, a gate Internet giving access to the integrality of retrospective collections (digitized old documents) of French reviews in social sciences, an initiative launched in 2004 by the Minister of education main road, of university education and research).

Specialist in phonology and experimental phonetics and African linguistics, it directed from 1985 to 1995 the Department of Sciences of the Language and the Research center Linguistics. He is member of the Dynamic Laboratory of Language (UMR 5596).

From 1996 to 2001, he exerted the functions of First Vice-president, responsible with research, documentation and the information policy. He will assume the chairmanship of the University, function which he will provide until 2006. During its mandate of many buildings of the university were rehabilitated or build. It is also on the initiative of the development of research the project Pôle and higher education named Université of Lyon.

It was during several years member of the CNU and the National committee of CNRS.

In July 2002, he was elected President of the University Conference the Rhone-Alps.

He is member since December 2002 of the Standing committee of the Conference of Presidents d' Université.
