Gilbert Bachelu

Desired Gilbert Joseph Bachelu (born with Pares, in Franche-Comté, the February 9th 1777, died of the Choléra to Paris in 1849), military French.

Bachelu had driven out the Russians of the formidable position of Stublau, and the March 3rd, it had pushed back the general attack directed by Platow on the suburbs of the place. It is illustrated during the head office of Danzig until the capitulation of the 1/1/1813. The June 26th 1813, it was named Major general; during the Hundred Days, the Bachelu general ordered the first division of the second army corps of Reille and was distinguished in the short countryside from June (Four-Arm). From Waterloo, it orders the 1st division of the 2nd body of Reille and is wounded at the time of the attack of the strengthened farm of Hougoumont, it was imprisoned twice like suspect, was exiled of Paris, then of France, where it returned only in 1817. It is reinstated in the Staff until 1824 when it is put in retirement.

After the Revolution of July, the Bachelu general was sent to the House of Commons by the voters of the the Jura and was re-elected in 1837, then Trawl-nets in 1838; he had just obtained the cross of commander of the Légion of honor. He was briefly military governor of Lyon at the end of 1830.

He died in Paris the June 16th 1849, 72 years old.
