Gilbert Annette
Born the March 10th 1946 with Diégo-Suarez, Gilbert Annette is a Politician French living in the island of the Réunion and pertaining to the Socialist party.
It is since September 2004 the first secretary of the socialist federation of the Meeting. It was confirmed at this station by the militants the November 24th 2005 by carrying it by 58,7% of the voices vis-a-vis Patrick Lebreton, mayor of Saint-Joseph.
Political career
Gilbert Annette was General adviser Meeting in 1988 then Maire of Saint-Denis of 1989 with 1994, date on which Michel Tamaya succeeded to him this station. He was also Député of the First district of the Meeting of March 1993 at April 1997.In 1996, it was condemned to 200.000 francs of fine, five years of deprivation of its civic rights and thirty months of prison including twelve with deferment for passive Corruption in procedures of government contracts at the town of Saint-Denis.
Current positioning
In the debate of nomination for the French presidential election of 2007, Gilbert Annette gave an opinion in favor of Ségolène Royal. Thereafter, this one carried out with the Meeting its best national score at the time of the internal vote of nomination socialist candidate, that with which Gilbert Annette was pleased in the press.He is candidate with the French legislative elections of 2007 in the first district of the island following the desistance from the regional adviser Monique Orphé. He is beaten with the second turn by Rene-Paul Victoria, already mayor of Saint-Denis.
