Gil Shaham

Gil Shaham is a Violoniste israélo - American born in 1971 with Urbana, in the Illinois.

Its first two years occur to the United States where his/her parents, Israelis, finish their academic works. All the family returns two years to Israel later, with Jerusalem, where the Gil young person undertakes at the seven years age the study of the Violon to the Académie of music Rubin near Samuel Bernstein. At 11 years, it obtains a purse to go to improve near Dorothy DeLay and of Hyo Kand with the Juilliard School of New York.

Its career of soloist starts in 1989 when it has to replace Itzhak Perlman for a series in concerts with Michael Tilson Thomas and the London Symphony Orchestra.

It occurs regularly in duet with his wife, the Australian violonist Adèle Anthony. It is not rare also to see it in recital with his sister pianist Orli Shaham.

He plays the Stradivarius Comtesse Polignac of 1699.
