Gil Jouanard
Gil Jouanard , born the December 11th 1937 with Avignon, is a French writer discovered by Rene Char.
Course
It took part in the creation of the one of the first daily newspapers of the independent Algérie (in 1963 and 1964), then it ensured the responsibility for the choice of the authors for an encyclopedia and was director of the cultural activity and the information of a national theater. Since 1977 it created the international poetic Meetings of Chartreuse of Villeneuve-the-Avignon, as well as the first structure of research and permanent literary animation (House of the Book and the Words). In 1986, it creates with Montpellier the Regional center of the Letters of Languedoc-Roussillon and the House of the Book and the Writers, whom it directs during almost 20 years, until their closing.
