Gigean

Gigean is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Since December 31st, 2002, it belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration of the Basin of Thau. Its inhabitants is called Gigeannais.

Geography

Gigean is surrounded by the Étang of Thau in the west, the solid mass of Gardiole in the south and by a wine plain, which goes from the hills of Moure until the periphery of Montpellier. Gigean is to 18 km of Montpellier and 14 km of Sète. The exchanger of a9 highway is to 2 km, that of a75 highway is to 33 km (Clermont-l' Herault). The climate is Mediterranean, hot and dryness the summer, soft the winter. Precipitations are abundant even violent with the autumn.
