Gift Waddell

Don Waddell (born the August 19th 1958 with Strait in the Michigan with the the United States) is a former professional player of Hockey. It is today the Vice-président but also the managing director of the Thrashers of Atlanta of the National league of hockey

Career of player

Don Waddell begins its career in the university championship with the Université from Michigan of North in 1976. Two seasons later, it is chosen by the Kings of Los Angeles at the time of the fishing out amateur of the National league of hockey. Third player chosen by Kings, it is the 111e fished out player and finally will play only one match in the LNH. It passes its career between 1980 and 1988 in the minor circuit playing the majority of its time in the international Ligue of hockey. In 1982, it gains even the trophy of best the defender, the Trophée of the Governor.

At the time of its last season in the LIH with the Spirits de Flint, it occupies the double post of player and assistant trainer of the team. The following season, he becomes the trainer number one of the team for two seasons.

In 1991-92, it occupies the same station for the Gulls de San Diego of the LIH but keeps the station only one year.

After that, Waddell is in 1997-98 the executive vice president of the Red Wings de Détroit and gains with them the Coupe Stanley. June 23rd, 1998, Don Waddell is named like first managing director of the news frankness from the Thrashers of Atlanta, team which will make her beginnings in the LNH in 1999.

In December 2002, Waddell decides to return Curt Fraser, first trainer of Thrashers, after a bad departure in the season. Waddell occupies the post of trainer by interim before the arrival of Bob Hartley in January. Waddell occupies the station for ten matches (four victories, five defeats and one demolishes in prolongation).

October 10th 2007, after six defeats of the team, Hartley is congédié of its station and Waddell passes once again behind the bench.
