Gift Deacon

Donald John Deacon (born on June 2nd, 1913 with Regina with the Canada - deceased on December 25th, 1943) was a professional player of Hockey.

Career in club

It begins its career junior with the Pats from Regina of the league of hockey junior of the Saskatchewan in 1930, first frankness from the city to bear this name. He also plays for the team at the time of the finale of the Coupe Memorial.

He signs a contract with the frankness from the National league of hockey of the Red Wings de Détroit in 1934 but he plays its first match in the LNH only in 1935. Meanwhile, he plays with the Olympics de Détroit of the international Ligue of hockey then when the frankness is sold and transferred to Pittsburgh, he follows it and becomes one of the first players of the Hornets. In 1938-39, it is best the pointer of the American Ligue of hockey - then named International-American Hockey League - with 65 points.

It spends then a few other seasons with Hornets, playing only little in the LNH. In 1940, it is exchanged in return of Bob Gracie and of: 30000 dollars with the frankness from the Barons de Cleveland. Two seasons later, it puts an end to its professional path and joined the amateur team of Calgary: Calgary Currie Army . It definitively stops hockey at the end of the season 1942-43. He dies on December 25th, 1943.
