Don Cheadle is an actor and producing American born the November 29th 1964 with Kansas City, Missouri (the United States).

Biography

Graduate in art at the University of Denver, Don Cheadle passes from many hearings which will lead in 1986 to a participation in the Fame televised series. After an appearance in Moving violations, its career on big screen takes off in 1987 thanks to John Irvin, who entrusts the role of the Washburn soldier to him in Hamburger Hill, then in Dennis Hopper who engages it on the turning of Colors in 1988. But it must wait until 1995 being essential like one of the best supporting roles of the American cinema.

It thus gives the counterpart to Denzel Washington in the Devil out of blue dress, Tommy Lee Jones in Volcano (1997), Mark Wahlberg in Boogie nights (1998), Warren Beatty in Bulworth (id.), Nicolas Cage in Family man (2000), Gary Sinise in Mission to Mars (id.), John Travolta in Opération Swordfish (2001) or Sean Penn in The Assassination off Richard Nixon (2004). Faithful to Steven Soderbergh, Don Cheadle interprets under its direction a shady boxer (Out of reach), a tough cop (Traffic) as well as a cool hold-up man in Ocean' S eleven (2002) and its continuation Ocean' S 12 (2004). It joined another prestigious casting, in Coup of glare with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek. The year 2005 marks a decisive turn in its career, since for the first time, it holds the first role of a large film Hotel Rwanda, which was worth several prices and nominations to him. Extremely from this success, it passes to the realization, with an ambitious project: the adaptation of a novel of Elmore Leonard, Tishomingo blues where it is put in scene with Matthew McConaughey

After its role in Hotel Rwanda (2004) which reports the Rwandan genocide of beginning of the year 90, it engages for this cause. In January 2005, it goes to the Sudan with 5 members of the Congress to visit refugee camps and to meet survivors of the genocide of the Darfur, then testifies in a television report.
