Giey-on-Aujon

Giey-on-Aujon is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.

This charming small village is located at about thirty kilometers of Langres and Chaumont.

Geography

History

The seigniory of Giey-on-Aujon is mentioned as of 1188. It depended on the counts of Châteauvillain. It was freed in 1308.

The Suisse established a fabric factory to with it in 1768. Under the Restoration, this industry was transformed into a manufacture of Porcelaine S.

The church dates from the 13th century. Property of the commune, it was classified “historic building” by a decree of the February 13rd 1928.
