Giant rhubarb

The giant Rhubarb ( Gunnera manicata syn. Gunnera brasiliensis ) or gunnère of Brazil, is a Hardy perennial with tracing Rhizome S, originating in the Brésil and the Colombia. Gunnera Manicata is a plant with very broad sheets. From the 3 years age and its origins of South America, it can resist temperatures going until -20°C if one protects it a little in winter. In spite of its giant rhubarb name, it is not edible. It does not have besides anything to see, botaniquement speaking, with the family of rhubarbs.

She gives spherical fruits, red-green, from 1 to 3 mm length.

She appreciates a rich and wet ground.

She is propagated by Semis (seeds at weak lifespan) or by Bouture of glares of sheets.
