Gianni Versace , born the December 2nd 1946 with Reggio Calabria, and dead the July 15th 1997 with Miami, is large a Italian Couturier.
Biography
He is born with Reggio di Calabria in Italy the December 2nd 1946 and acquires his vocation of creator of mode and his first knowledge in the workshop of mode of his mother.
In 1972, 28 years old, after some training courses with Paris and London, it settles with Milan where it will work like Styliste and independent Dessinateur and work for the collections of Italian mode of Genny. In 1978, it creates with his/her brother Santo Versace, chairman and his sister Donatella Versace, artistic director, her own house of Haute couture for woman and man with his name Gianni Versace and presents its first collection woman in her permanent shop of Milan. It also creates lines of products of luxury of Parfum S, products Cosmétique S, fashion accessories, of Lunette S, Sac S, jewel X, watch S, articles for the habitat of interior Linge, Vaisselle, Ameublement, etc and of many costumes and decorations for the entertainment world, the Théâtre and the Ballet S amongst other things for Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe and for Elton John.
He is quickly recognized and receives many distinctions throughout his career. Its collections are original, luxurious, even slightly exhibitionist, Baroque S and largely coloured.
In 1986 it is made Commandeur of the Republic Italian by the President of the Republic Italian Francesco Cossiga, and Large Medal of Vermeil of the town of Paris by the mayor of Paris Jacques Chirac.
The June 8th 1988, the jury of the Cutty Sark elects it Styliste like the most creative man and innovator of the world.
The December 3rd 1995, Elton John gives to him price VHI Fashion and Music Award to New York for its special contribution of the world of the mode to the music.
He is assassinated at the 50 years age at the top of the glory and the artistic success of two balls in the head in front of his sumptuous villa of Miami Beach in Florida the July 15th 1997, by an American serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
His/her sister Donatella Versace, who assisted it during many years, took again the torch as a creative-designer of the family designers house Gianni Versace and his/her brother Santo Versace is always chairman.
