Gianni Brera

Giovanni Luigi Brera (San Zenone Al Po, statement September 8th, 1919 - Codogno, LO December 19th, 1992), known as Gianni Brera, was a writer and Italian journalist.

Thanks to its originality and with its control of the Italian language, Brera is judged to have influenced the Italian sporting journalism of the XXe century more than any other journalist.

Life

Brera passed its science control Politiques in 1943, while it was useful in the army as lieutenant parachutist of Folgore Division. Its style

In journalism, Brera created a innovatif style, founded on its literary vein. It incorporated in its writings of the many words borrowed abroad (it spoke French, German and Spanish) or in the Italian regional languages, in particular with the lombard (a celto-French language rather near to the Occitan). It created itself much neologisms, of which a past in good of other languages (" libero" for a particular role of football player). Brera was called " It Gran Lombardo" (large Lombard) like formerly Carlo Alberto Pisani Dossi E Carlo Emilio Gadda.
