Gian-Carlo Coppola

Gian-Carlo Coppola (September 17th 1963 - May 26th 1986) was the oldest son of famous the Réalisateur Francis Ford Coppola and of his wife Eleanor Coppola.

Born with Los Angeles in 1963, the elder one of the Coppola children was the brother of Roman and Sofia.

Like his/her brother and his sister, Gian-Carlo, called Gio by its family and her friends, often made figuration in films of his/her father, as in The Godfather , Apocalypse Now and Rumble Fish .

Thereafter, he became associated producer for Rumble Fish and The Outsiders .

He appears with his Roman brother among two wire of Robert Duval in the character of Tom Hagen, at the same time in the scenes of brawl and with the funeral of Vito Corleone behind Duval and Al Pacino.

Gio Coppola was killed in an accident of speedboat in May 1986 at the 22 years age to Annapolis, Maryland.

Griffin O' Neal, the son of Ryan O' Neal which led the boat under the empire of drug, was shown to be the person in charge of the tragedy. He was finally condemned to a fine of 200 $ and a judgment in 18 months of probation in 1987.

At the time of her death, the woman of Gio Coppola, Jacqui of the Fountain, was pregnant two months of their only daughter Gia Coppola, who was born the January 11th 1987.
