Giacomo Nacchiante

Giacomo Nacchiante , born with Florence and died with Chioggia the May 6th 1569, was a Dominican theologist.

He makes his studies in Bologna, in company in particular of Michele Ghislieri, the future pope Pie V. He teaches then philosophy and theology during several years, in Rome, with the holy college Thomas de Minerva. Paul III names it bishop of Chioggia the June 3rd 1544.

With the Council of Thirty, Nacchiante protests against the decree of IVe session, signed on April 8th, 1546, which affirms that one must receive with as much piety and reverence the Tradition of the Church that the Scriptures, but it ends up joining there, by seeing that the assembly accepts it almost unanimously.

Its complete works were published in Venice by Pietro Fratino, in 1567; one finds there inter alia comments of the epistles of Paul saint.
