Ghurides

The Ghurides were a dynasty Persian of the Eastern Khorassan (today in Afghanistan) have north of India. They reigned of 1149 with 1212.

Ghurides belonged to the family of the Shansabani (representatives of Samanides) in the area of Ghur of current the Afghanistan. After the Islamization of this area at the 11th century, it was subjected starting from 1010 to the Ghaznévides. In 1099, Ghurides became the representatives of Ghaznévides with Ghazni. Under the reign of AD-DIN Husayn Went (1149 - 1161), Ghazni was conquered and destroyed and Ghaznévides ejected of the Khorassan. Starting from 1178, Ghurides began the conquest of the valley of the Indus and reversed in 1186 the Ghaznévides last of the Pendjab.

Under Ghurides, one had a double capacity, by which Ghiyath AD-DIN Muhammad (1163 - 1203) controlled is of Iran since Firuzkuh and Hérat, while his/her brother Mu `izz AD-DIN Muhammad (1173 - 1206) reigned on the India since Ghazni and Lahore. While Ghiyath AD-DIN Muhammad conquered the Khorassan and was essential successfully against the Khwârazm-Shahs, Mu `izz AD-DIN began the conquest of the north of India after its victory with the battle of Thaneswar over the Indian princes directed by Prithivîrâja Châhumâna III (1192). As of 1202, Ghurides had pushed their conquest until the Bengal and with the Gujarat.

Admittedly, Mu `izz AD-DIN became in 1203 the only one directing of Ghurides, but the empire quickly disaggregated after its assassination towards 1206. The areas of Iran fell until in 1215 under the capacity from the Khwârazm-Shahs and, in India, the generals slaves (" Mamelouks") directed by Qûtb ud-DIN Aibak made themselves independent and founded the Sultanat of Delhi.
